Arts Front & Center

About the Project

After more than 50 years in our facility, the Arts Center is undertaking a capital project to modernize and expand our home and create a new, world-class arts center for our North Country community. With $22 million already raised, we are happy to announce that we’ve just broken ground and construction has officially begun. Please visit frontandcenter.lakeplacidarts.org to learn more about the project and consider making a gift to help us reach our goal of $33 million!

  • A fully accessible facility for audiences, artists, and staff, including a new step-free entrance to the theatre, expanded lobby, the addition of an elevator, and easily navigable backstage spaces.
  • A new state-of-the-art theatre, which will allow us to offer even more world-class programming from the nation’s most acclaimed artists, musicians, and dancers.
  • A new art gallery adjacent to our lobby, which will remain free for all who visit.
  • A dedicated education space for arts classes in a variety of disciplines and a new Head Start facility for community families.
  • Revitalized green spaces for outdoor gathering and recreation during the warmer months.
  • Easier, well-lighted parking!

With these much needed upgrades and more, our future home will be a cultural hub and community gathering place, where artists and audiences will experience inspiring arts programming in a space that is inviting to everyone.
