Maggie Sweeney

Maggie was raised in rural Amsterdam, NY, but later found a home in the Adirondacks while earning a B.S. in Biology at Paul Smith’s College of Arts and Science. Years of living and working in Saranac Lake have since deepened her connection to the region and its community. As an environmental humanitarian, Maggie seeks to restore people’s sense of place and kinship with nature through creative expression, inspiring others to engage more deeply with the world around them. Alongside broader reflections on stewardship and accessibility, some of her special interests include music, journalism, and photography. She is also an avid reader and writer of poetry who enjoys wandering outdoors and watching documentaries about deep ocean research. Grateful to enter the arts community in a professional capacity, Maggie is excited to grow within nonprofit spaces that value interdisciplinary dialogue, community connection, and creative approaches to education.
