What is Joy to the Children?
Generously donated each year by the Mirror Lake Inn Resort & Spa and the Weibrecht Family, Joy to the Children is the unofficial kickoff of the Lake Placid holiday season! More than a beloved holiday tradition, the event is a cornerstone of our community’s support for arts education programming.
Monies raised at this event allow the Arts Center to offer important early experiences that foster arts appreciation for children across 5 counties and dozens of schools across the Adirondacks. By sharing school-day performances, summer camps, tumbling, the Lake Placid School of Dance, art exhibits, free craft workshops and more, the Arts Center has provided an essential resource to over 250,000 young people over the past 25 years, supporting future generations and creating a vibrant arts community for all.
