About the Instructor

Joe Conto is an award-winning improv instructor, workshop facilitator, and performer with nearly two decades of experience helping people communicate more confidently, collaborate more effectively, and think on their feet. Based in Lake Placid, Joe teaches beginner through advanced improvisers, corporate teams, and community groups across North America. He is a longtime instructor and performer at both Montreal Improv Theatre and Arts Center Lake Placid. He also teaches Improv for Life Skills at Paul Smith’s College, where he is a Professor of Hospitality and Business Management, blending performance training and real-world professional skills.

Joe has performed at festivals in New York City, Toronto, Ottawa, Boston, Burlington, and Hartford, and is a first-place finisher in Montreal’s city-wide Threepio Competition. He continues to study with leading voices in improv, including Armando Diaz, Will Hines, Jill Bernard, and Kirsten Rasmussen, ensuring his classes are current, practical, and immediately impactful.
