Class Description
Paint the feeling of the landscape, not just the view.
An inspiring introduction to expressive landscape painting. Participants will explore color-mixing, intuitive mark-making, and emotional interpretation of place, moving beyond realism into personal visual expression. Individual guidance will be tailored to each student’s goals.
*This class is ideal for beginners and those wanting to loosen their style. While concepts presented will be geared towards beginners, even experienced artists may enjoy new insights, inspirations and camaraderie.
Students will complete one expressive landscape painting and gain tools for continued exploration.
Materials
If you already have acrylic supplies, simply bring what you have.
“I use Golden or Liquitex Heavy Body Acrylics. Student-grade paints are fine to start, though they have less pigment and a thinner consistency. If you plan to continue painting, investing in higher-quality materials is worthwhile.” — Holly Friesen
