Spring Break Clay Class: Kid’s Pinch Pot Animals (Ages 8-12)

Come and create pinch pot animals out of clay that you can bring home!

Skills Learned:

• pinch pot techniques
• texture through stamping and pressing
• slip and scoring


Class Timeline

Day 1
Monday, March 30

Students will brainstorm what animal they would like to make and use pinch pot technique to create it!


Day 2
Friday, April 3

Students will glaze their pinch pot projects using under glaze.


Final pieces will be available for pick up starting Monday, April 6.

About the Instructor

Ceramist and Sculptor, Morin Bissonette, grew up in Lake Placid where she fell in love with many types of art such as dance, ceramics, and generally creating. As it happens Morin’s first time taking a ceramic class was right at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts making her position at the Arts Center very full circle. Morin went on to get a Bachelor of Fine Arts at SUNY Plattsburgh where she concentrated in ceramics and sculpture. Her work focuses on the process of creating and bringing one back to their inner child. Furthermore she enjoys experimenting with different methods and mediums.
