Cold Reads return—with an exciting, dramatic twist!
Before the screening of National Theatre Live’s “charming, cheeky and cunning” Hamlet, join us in the afternoon for our private play reading club!
We’ll be reading the script of one of three Shakespeare-inspired comedies … but we won’t know which one until the title is drawn from a hat!
No rehearsal! No experience necessary! RSVP required. Join us for this fun opportunity to bring a character to life as we read a play aloud—or sit back and listen while your friends and neighbors give fresh (really fresh), theatrical takes.
After the reading, go out and grab dinner and then return for the West End Hamlet on the Arts Center screen! Cold Read Club participants and attendees are offered $5 discounted tickets.
What’s a Cold Read? Typically, a cold read is when an actor is asked to perform a script with little-to-no preparation. Sometimes used in the audition process, a cold read calls upon the actor’s spontaneity and ability to grasp material swiftly. However, the Arts Center’s Cold Reads are casual, pressure-free and open to all!
